On March 2, 2018 the Artemis fishing dragger broke free from it’s mooring near MacMillan Pier. The nor’easter that was raging at the time produced hurricane force winds and pounding waves which pushed the dragger westward until it became jammed up on the rocks of the West End Breakwater.
In order to get this shot during these conditions I slid down the rocks to the left of the breakwater and sat down in the snow, positioned with my back to the wind in order to keep the snow from hitting the front of my lens. My tripod was kept as low as possible with the legs splayed out in order to keep the camera from shaking. As I was shooting I heard a voice shout; “Are you CRAZY?!”. Looking up I spotted a police officer standing above me. I promised extreme caution and was allowed to continue.
